Well i recorded this song like 3 months ago ----> https://soundcloud.com/atrasalviejo56/pozo-sin-fondo
which is in my view fucking awesome

and today i realized it sounded somewhat similar to this one here from a group that's quite famous here in spain.

The thing is that i never liked that song, and that band is pure bullshit to my taste.
And i never listen to them, in fact i got the inspiration from a japanese band.
Do you think it sounds too similar or it is just that there are like 2 or 3 chords? + ska feeling?

I only listened to the TEQUILA song thus far but it was awesome, great fucking powerpop, an underrated form of postpunk

yeah okay so your song is really similar, but its not similar in style so who cares

So you're saying you are surprised you didn't come up with something derivative?

dude thats not weird, small stuff can change your overall impression of a song by making your mind put it in another category which in turn changes the way you perceive everything in said song

Emotions play a role, of course.
Even if said songs may sound very similar you may think yours is different due to the emotional state you were in when creating it, or the inherent sentimentality you attach to it.

My deepest condolescences, O Man Beyond. My heart goes out to you at this troubled time, for I too know the pain of writing a song and then being like, wait doesn't that sound like some other famous song?

One must always look to the positives of the situation, however, for I tell you that it is the state of not knowing which is the hardest. To say, that were this song similar to another, it could be come to terms with, yet when the song which is born reminiscence of eludes one, the tension inside becomes unbearable. To not know one's own originality; to feel the truth of the situation, yet always in the back of one's mind, unable to be brought to the surface.

Stay strong, Man Beyond.

Sincerely,

Artsu
