Well, I have found this one on the internet. It says "N people have tendency to... hmm, how it was? Aah, yes! To create their own toughts of this world, so they are really sad, when they find out that world isn't like what they tought it is."

Well, it could be sh*t, but I have tested it today, and, well, I have come to this one:
Se - Optimism
Si - Realism
Ne - Pesimism
Ni - Hmm, haven't met recently any

Feel free to correct me, criticize me or to add something, because this theory is not that much mine. I have found on that same site the people, which said too, that Introverted people are pessimistic, or that J are optimistic, so if you want, comment this one, but this is not important detail IMO. Thanks!

I love asking people about their perspective of the world, most people tend to think of themselves as realistic or maybe pessimistic. I am yet to meet someone who considers themselves optimistic, as acknowledging the bias would not be optimistic thinking.

ESTP and ISTP are optimistic, I have asked them and watched them (we have lots of them in our class), and it would make sense. Just think: Se is about sport and fun. Even Keirsey describes "SP" as the fun loving people, so Se is IMO 100% optimistic.

/and yeah, me too, I love to ask them too :D

Eh. I'm Ne and pretty optimistic. But then again, I've grown up with a bunch of Se's, so maybe it just rubbed off.

On the whole, though, most of my N friends are more contemplative, pessimistic, and possibly depressed than my S friends. Except this one ESFJ. But what are you gonna do with ESFJs. Loonies, the lot of them.

One of the things that really concern me.

I am fairly optimistic and laid back.

Except!

When I desire.

Desire causes pessimism.
I just don't see any other reason to be downed.
Money is everything.

I sometimes think I choose between Ne and Se unconsciously even though, that is not possible.

Desire causes me to look into the future and see all the hell awaiting.

i think most people fluctuate between optimisim and pessimism to some degree based on their current life situation.

the only people who stay one way their entire life are people who never allow themselves to experience a world that could change their mind.

I wouldn't say that any specific cognitive function is responsible for any specific attitude, such as optimism or pessimism. An Ne user for example, could see all the amazing possibilities with their Ne, but at the same time their Ne could show them all of the negative possibilities as well. The hardware you come equipped with into this world can be shaped in all sorts of ways depending on your personal growth.

I love asking people about their perspective of the world, most people tend to think of themselves as realistic or maybe pessimistic. I am yet to meet someone who considers themselves optimistic, as acknowledging the bias would not be optimistic thinking.

"A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty."

"For myself I am an optimist - It does not seem too much use being anything else."

Second noble truth?

I might think that Ne is realism and Si is pessimism, I don't know why and it's of course kind of ridiculous to try and correlate these things.

Well, I don't know how other INTP's, but I am took in my class as typical "daydreamer", and, well, often "pessimist".

Well, maybe it isn't determined by the function... and maybe is. What do you think Ni is often?

I started out in life as an extreme INTP and an extreme pessimist.

But over time, as I evolved, I found out that optimism, taking a view that optimises one's life, is actually a much better approach than either pessimism or positivism.
