Cognitive engineering is focused upon the Man/Machine interface at this point in time. With this development, a computer built with one's own neurons, certainly becomes a feasible possibility.

Whether, this new type of computer becomes an implant in a brain or vice versa, the horror of becoming a transhuman slave (without any human rights) is now becoming more and more likely...

Anyway; I'm thrilled at the potential of this sort of scientific step forwards. (I'm defining the direction forward here, I know.)

It's always been an ideal for me to have direct brain interface and the potential of more rapid expansion of mind-capacity through technological breakthroughs like this.
Though the bleak and dreary example of slavery is a potential step, I doubt it will be a long-lived one as empathy and the ability to cogitate (which should be directly increased through things like this) are closely linked.
