Just curious. I'm kind of curious if INTPs, or just any kind of personality type really, have the same kind of friends. To me, I would prefer intellectual friends, friends I can have a deep conversation with, discussing science and technology, or just whatever comes into our heads. Some humor is good, too.

You can get these from the judiciary and the Universities. They're fun people to hang around with :)

I enjoy spending time with people who are intellectual in the sense they like to think about things rather than just book smart, and we can have meaningful discussions. I also get bored with people who are stuck-up/restricted and can't let loose and be silly. I prefer hanging out with people who like to have fun without thinking it's stupid or pointless.

Arrogant and pretentious. I prefer chatting with my online friend. We teach each other stuff, and are generally accepting of each other's opinions. I have many online friends, but perhaps only one I genuinely enjoy having discussions with.

I'd say most of them are introverts. Apart from that a mix of judgmental and prospecting. All of us were social rejects growing up. One of which tried really hard and succeeded in being social. Unfortunately he also did jail time and has an assortment of developmental problems.

I have 4 best friends, I'll describe them in a list order.
1. INFP, religious, huge introvert, imaginative, illogical in his ideas.
2. ENFJ, accepting, religious, brave, outgoing, smart but a flirt
3. Idk his type , Brave, asshole, Rational, funny, hes in the varsity team
4. ISTJ, VIDEO GAMING, quieter, smart, realist

I prefer smarter, funnier, idealist and is willing to be my personal 'therapist'

I have a best friend who's an Infp and I talk about life with her.
I've some other great friends who I can have intellectual and meaningful conversations with.
Otherwise I've mostly mischievous friends. We play around, we tease each other, we talk about ideas, we try new things, we talk about silly life problems and we just enjoy our time together. :)

For some reason, my best friends are both extroverts. Maybe cause I need someone who would come up and talk to me first and an introvert is not likely to do so. It does get annoying sometimes though.
One of them is an ESFP, but I think she might be a letter off.
The other one, I have no idea, but she's definitely E*F*.
I might be heartless, but all of my friends and acquaintances are there for a reason. The first friend I need for joking, sarcasm and intelligent conversations about literature and psychology. The second friend I need to relax and feel normal with gossip, talk about guys/crushes, etc. Well and she also has a dog.
I am drawn to people with intellect and a good sense of humor. I don't think I could be friends with someone who lacks one of those.

I would like to say I prefer intellectual friends. But I think in reality I befriend strange people. It takes a strange person to put up with me or relate to me at all. And even they often call me a weirdo. But in an affectionate way, like.
