What careers could I pursue that would not force me to place much importance on my appearance, not that I tend to look slovenly or anything. I am averse to shaving off this mass of hair that my face has come to acquire, and my torso has really warmed up to the insulation hanging from my head.

There are ants from various hills here, so I hope to get some useful feedback.

Well, appearance is important regardless what profession you seek, but if you want one where beards are approved of, go lumberjack, pirate, bearded lady, or artist.

well, i am very pro-beard and everything, but if you're a young person and you want to pursue a career in... well, most fields that involve any sort of interaction with people at all (read: almost every job in the world), you''re gonna have to tame yourself. it's unfortunate, but that's the way the world works.

although i encountered a young sales rep recently with a rather magnificent beard. it'll really just depend on your employer.
