does anyone play it?

there is a contest in france not awhile ago.

i feel that part of the game seems childlish, but part of the game is intellectually challanging.

because it requires anticipation of what your opponent is doing and plan moves.

almost as difficult as poker or conventional card games

I haven't played but I have consumed some content for it. I like card games and I like understanding how different contexts reward different sorts of strategies. TBH while it's a card game for kids, it's probably one of the harder ones because the text is so dense on every card. It takes a lot of effort to understand the numerous things a typical card is doing and the designers don't seem to care how legible any given card is.

We could make our own card game, make it about having debates.

E.g.
Card Title: Turtles All The Way Down

River_terrapin.jpg

Description: "Turtles all the way down" is an expression of the problem of infinite regress. The saying alludes to the mythological idea of a World Turtle that supports a flat Earth on its back. It suggests that this turtle rests on the back of an even larger turtle, which itself is part of a column of increasingly larger turtles that continues indefinitely.

Effect: This card summons a 1/1 turtle, until this effect is dispelled every time a turtle is killed it is replaced with another turtle with +1/+1 stats, this happens regardless of whose turtle it is.

I've played the GBA games for it, and had some cards. I would mix in some Japanese cards with US ones and pretended that that was legal, when I played with friends.

I think it was a thing during middle school and then that was it.
