AI bots for conversations

Any good ones you know? I've googled, but besides I didn't like the ones I found so far, there's nothing to lose asking it.

Don't know of any. The idea sounds entertaining at first, but I think it will soon become tiring.

For example:
How would one go about talking about philosophy with such a being?
As it can not think for itself(at least for now), one may quickly become bored with it's programmed converse.

As I understand so far, there are some bots that "learn" in some way what the user answers to him (like Cleverbot that BigApplePi posted there, I sort of liked that one for a good period of time but I think it still lacks variety). I guess if more different users talk about different POVs of philosophy and topics of interest (yes, I'd like to find a bot with defined topics as I'm not looking for small talk or dirty talk) to the same "learning bot" for a reasonable period of time, it could work against that problem.

I was sort of inspired to look for bots after watching some anime/manga series and movies about it.

I asked it if it were human, it said: Of course I am human, I have an erection the size of the Empire State Building.

So either it is very well programmed to act like us, or it is playing humans off against each other. Probably the former, this thing is crazy.

After experimenting with BAP's links, I have a better understanding of the OP. I find these constructs highgly amusing, regardless of their flaws.
On a side note, what anime/manga inspired you to create this thread?

My guess is the AI needs work. However you might ask it since it says it is human if it knows how to procreate.

Cleverbot seems rather... broken. Here's a transcripted conversation:

At times it spoke to me in Spanish and German, and keeps reffering to gender.
Perhaps it's high.

On a side note, what anime/manga inspired you to create this thread?

Some names of manga/anime that I remember influenced me on this are Gunslinger Girl, Code Geass, Chobits, Elfen Lied, Ergo Proxy, Scrapped Princess, etc (some of them not directly related to AI stuff, but some details were interesting for it). Beyond the content of those, I liked the idea enough to fantasize about it with regular frequency.

Well, with this I see a problem from learning bots. Beyond the small talk and hilarious content (is not that I dislike it nor feel an offense from it, it's just that I'm not really interested), if open to the public, they're prone to be filled with troll answers rather than interesting ones.
