When do you feel that you have the most energy in a given day? What methods have you used to help summon your strength, especially when you have some sort of daunting task to undertake (writing a paper, going to work, a night on the town)? I've found that energy drinks aren't particularly affective on me, and while tea and coffee do seem to provide some stimulation.. I'd think there'd be better solutions out there. So, how do you wake yourself up?

Cardio + healthy diet

I know it sounds cliche, but you have absolutely no idea how much it works 'till you give it 2 weeks.

There's no substitute for an adrenaline fix without toxins in your body.

You feel better/happier/less depressed and more energized

I'm inclined to agree. I try to do these two things, but I usually don't last.

I drink a lot of tea. It helps a little, but it won't make your 5 hours of sleep okay.
I also take vitamin-B complex pills. Vitamin B-12 specifically acts as an energizer and can help you stay awake.

I am hopelessly enslaved to coffee. (Note the avatar.)

When I really need an energy boost, there's nothing like driving fast with the windows down. For me at least. *shrugs*

I drink a lot of coffee, but I haven't noticed any energizing effects... It's just comfy to have a mug of coffee nearby. To me the greatest source of energy is the sunlight. I just need to look trough the window and see a sunny scene out there and I'm ready for anything. Or maybe that just psychological... I also get energized and inspired by good books and movies.

Outside your window.
Oooh, I love oxymorons! But on a more serious note; I gain energy in strange ways. Caffeine has no effect on me, the only type of "energized state" you might find me in comes only from the inside, only I can make myself excited and it's very mood-based.

Hmmm....

I usually only use caeffine when I'm really tired.

It can only pull me to a halfway point.

i.e

If I'm feeling fine, the caeffine can't make me anymore active, but if I'm exhausted it can help for a short while.

Hmmm...

Energy drinks tend to work though.....but only if I consume several bottles..

which means you can't sleep later on so.......

Behind you, kicking you in the ass
Caffeine now only serves to keep the headaches away. A sure sign of addiction.

Having energy is a hit or miss proposition. I've yet to find a rhyme or reason why sometimes I have energy and other times don't. I have tried to find a pattern but to no avail. It's raining outside and I slept little last night and yet I'm about ready to run errands and take advantage of my day off. Makes no sense as sometimes a rainy day makes me sleep 12 hours straight.

I agree, but its very hard to maintain it after the initial boost has taken effect, at least for me. I tend to do cardio for 3 months, then quit for 3, and on and on. It does work wonders tho.

Yes! Sunlight!

I went to college where the winters were much more harsh. Combine that with my college lifestyle of sleeping half the day (and spending most of the rest in his room) and you get a student who's getting very little sunlight.
Then I kinda realized that on days that I actually took some time to go outside it was much better.

As for music, this gets me revved up. I usually listen to it before tests.: YouTube- 'Ron Paul For The Long Haul' YouTube Ron Paul Campaign Rap
