Ok, so before I get started on the rules that you must fallow in order to ask a question I have some things I must say.

There are people who are better equipped to answer these question but as the saying goes, "you snooze, you loose." I in no way believe that I am superior to anyone, only that I have a developed skill set in a certain area. In me starting this thread I in no way do it in arrogance that I know everything regarding the subject(s) that will be present in this thread. If you are asking a question, you are asking my opinion not what is to be considered and absolute truth but an absolute truth is what I am striving for. I don't expect that this thread will get much attention but it is made for those who find value in it. I will articulate my answers in the way I believe the majority of people will understand. This thread is not meant for me to be the only one who answers a question and input from other people is encouraged. It is meant to be more of a discussion platform as opposed to other "Ask X" threads. If you do choose to answer a question, I would ask that you answer with the reasoning or knowledge you already have on the subject so as to not take your answer from another source. This is for integrity and entertainment purposes. In the event that you think I am wrong you may comment on your perspective. The reason I encourage others to answer any given question they wish is because I may not get to all of them if it is a post heavy thread.

My skill set that I believe I have developed is both in morality and common sense. I am NOT going to answer a question regarding morality from a religious perspective, only from a common sense perspective.

This thread is a way that I am giving back to the community; I have the habit of taking in more information than I give back so I am trying to make up for that.

The rules:

1) The question(s) you ask must have to do with common sense.
2) The question(s) you ask must have to do with common sense.
3) You must give an reasonable amount of information to draw a logical conclusion. If I believe there is not enough information I may ask a question to get more information unless you state to draw a conclusion from only the information given. I may choose to not answer your question if not enough information is given and you demand that I answer it with the information given.
4) I will be the one to determine if the question has to do with common sense. As a way of checking if your question has to do with common sense you may ask yourself if the question has to do with ethics or morality or both.
5) You may summon someone else to answer a question but that does not mean that I will not share my perspective on it as well.

If you are thinking to yourself "who do you think you are making an ask QuickTwist thread, you have no credibility or credentials" I would ask that you keep those negative comments to yourself and refer you to the first sentence of the second paragraph. Like I said, this is meant to be more of a discussion that a typical "Ask X" thread.

The question(s) you ask must have something to do with common sense.

So ask only easy questions?

I will probably never fix ALL those grammatical errors.

According to my interpretation of Myers Briggs theory every individual exercises both ends of the spectrum, meaning that in given circumstances they will use their opposite function when necessary. There is a point man of a band who has a tattoo non his back of a Tiger in combat with a samurai. This represents the battle between logic and feeling. The name of the singer is Tom Lambisis who is on bail for trying to hire a hit man to kill his estranged wife. He had wrote her in an email that he no longer loves her and that he no longer believed in God.

No, there are common sense questions that are not easy to answer.

But if it's common sense then surely it is a obvious answer?

Do you believe in objective truths? Is God objective?

That's a good question. Everyone has their own interpretation of what common sense is. To me common sense means that you have the ability to think clearly and act objectively. It means being wise.

Everyone has common sense to a degree. Sometimes primitive animals have more common sense than some humans. Common sense can also be categorized by your ability to make a smart decision.

Common sense is not a MBTI function because everyone has it to some degree. You could say haw you act instinctively has to do with what level of common sense you have.

Again, this is not a common sense question, it is a personal one but I believe I owe you an answer.

I don't believe Myers Briggs is objective enough to accurately type people. INTJs supposedly are more sure of their type then most. By the comment you are referring to made by me implying that I think you are INTJ is not a serious comment but you have characteristics of an INTJ by your definitiveness if such thing exists.

okay. it's hard to tell when you're being serious!

definitiveness hmm... you may be right about this. thing is, though, i've hung out with some Ni-doms (cherry cola being one of them) since childhood and all along i've had none of their self-contained monumental perception. for better or worse, i've always been a flimsy Ne character with Ti coming out for a solo performance in the most serious discussions. particularly in childhood i was the annoying one going "hold on" (Si) and "what if" (Ne) about deeper Ni intuitions from my peers. still i cannot completely refute your observation. you are right that some others here on INTPf seem to have a purer interest in the subjects and discussions as such while i often catch myself playing some meta games or attempting ToE... though that's more INFJ than INTJ i suppose. sorry if i have misinterpreted your intended denotation of "definitiveness".

thanks for reply.

This answer makes me scream in terror as it reminds me of the impossible INTP/ISTP arguments, each trying to get to their Se-Ni/Ne-Si perspective turf. You're an ISTP only based on this in my books just fyi.

Re: Ask QuickTwist (^_^)V

It is perfectly acceptable IMO to start an ask XXXX thread. However you will be competing with other "ask YYYY" threads and the idea will have limited creativity depending on you. Topic threads bring in all sort of interactions so may be more productive. It's your call to see what happens.

With that in mind, are you modestly satisfied with how it's going so far and would you like to see more common sense Q's along what lines? How do you define, "common sense"?

Re: Ask QuickTwist (^_^)V

Serious question.

What is the meaning of existence?

This depends on your interpretation of the question. It could mean what is the definition of existence which would not be a common sense question but a knowledge based question and I don't think you are asking this question just to push my buttons so I will not answer it this way.

Strictly speaking, the meaning of existence is to exist. This would mean that all things have a purpose and fit in with the rest of everything else that exists. If you think of it in the form of an equation, the "existence" of every term has purpose and without it you have a completely different equation that has a better chance then not of having a different answer.

First off I appreciate your input and that you even bothered to ask a question because you are someone who I respect.

I knew it would be pretty rough to start but I was hoping people would see the value in it so I made a calculated risk and decided to go through with it but you answer your question directly, yes. I am not on some sort of ego trip that I must have all good common sense questions in order for this thread to be successful. I love to exercise my brain by people asking me questions that are difficult for me to answer so I got enjoyment even out of the first few questions and answers. It is a puzzle of articulation and I love puzzles... especially ones of articulation and reason.

I define common sense as the thing that tells you what a good thing to do is. Notice that I did not repeat myself in the same way in the way the question was asked in my interpretation of what common sense is. I hate repeating myself in the exact same way I have done before unless it is to prove a very strong point.

Re: Ask QuickTwist (^_^)V

When you define a word aren't you suppose to refrain from using that word in it's own definition?

I was not defining the word only telling what it means. My math instructor in college (the dean) taught me not only how to read a problem but also to tell what it means. Sometimes you have to repeat certain parts of the said thing in order to tell its meaning. I was under the impression that I gave a good answer because I didn't leave it a t just "to exist." Instead I decided that that answer was not adequate so I chose to elaborate in order to satisfy the person that was asking the question and I elaborated.

Do you not use the same characters in order to communicate through written language? Certainly it is absurd to have a written language that has absolutely no repetition in it whatsoever. Therefore some repetition is necessary.

Asking me to give a definition is not common sense as previously stated. I would say it is closer to folly. Perhaps you can rephrase the questions?

Ok, definition of evil for me: I don't know that this exists, but I would say genocide is up there as an example.

Bad: doing things consciously to bring ruination to another person or part of society especially if they cannot defend themselves.

Good: something that is done for the betterment of oneself or for society.

do you think donkey kong country 2 was the best game of the trilogy for snes? Why? If not which was it and why?
also it is normal to say its soundtrack is one of the best soundtracks ever written! Have you got any other good one in your head?

I am not well versed in the public opinion of Donkey Kong Country 2 nor have I ever plaed the game, so I cannot give a good answer. I think it is "normal" to say it has the best soundtrack in as far as how people have favoritism toward things they are emotionally attached to thereby disregarding a logical process to determine what good is.

Why did they replace Donkey Kong with other characters in DKC II & III? It would have been better if he was playable in all three instead of him and Diddy getting kidnapped for storyline related purposes. Instead they waited for DK64 to have him be playable again.
