No. Yes, it does seem that the loudest, most obnoxious, zealous bigots claim to be irreligious/ atheist LOL (their religion is their professed lack of one: IRONY anybody?)

In any case hitler and Stalin proved that you don't need per se religion to be a dogmatic fundamentalist. It can be substituted with another ideology.

To consider atheism an ideology one needs to consider atheism based on an online-vocal group of professed atheists who seem to want it to be an ideology. Of course those people are retarded dogmatics in their own right. Letting them represent atheism is just a cheap way to get yer hands on some ammo. Besides if one were to be as selective about which group(s) of religious people should be the basis of theism things get a lot uglier.

Atheism is lack of belief in a God. Nothin more.
