People tend to be confused when I initially come off extremely confident and then my way of socializing is just sittin around quiet for the most part... My head has been working overdrive for some time now figuring out what "integrating the inferior", which we're supposed to do, actually means... Insecurity all the way?

INTP Inferior integration

Despite their status as dominant Thinkers, INTPs’ Extraverted Feeling contributes a surprising amount of affability and personability to their outward presentation. INTPs are often viewed as genuine and sincere, even hospitable. Their Fe confers a certain childlike innocence that others may find refreshing.

People tend to think of me as honest and out there. I'm very sarcastic, so once a person learns that about me, they seem to like what I add to the group dynamic. Some times I do come across as an arrogant pseudo-intellectual ass, but that comes with being an NT.

Yes, there is a part of socializing that can make you insecure, but with some practice the insecurity starts to go away. Think of each interaction for the next couple weeks as a experiment. Try different things. I was lucky, because my parents encouraged me to be weird in public.

Well, I can be very charismatic, charming etc, but that's mostly Ne I believe, so I'm not really connecting with people when I do that... anyways my life is currently a mess (I'm only 18, I think a lot of you are older) which is why I'm having all these thoughts

Part of feeling a connection to other has to do with opening ones self up to others. I'm not sure your situation. When I was 18 I had just started community college. I also started smoking a tobacco pipe. sitting with the smokers at the smoking tables was very beneficial to me learning how to connect. I got into philosophy around that time, and the next year I joined the philosophy club, and made most of my current friends there.

In what way do you think you aren't connecting with other people? You don't have feelings for them? You don't care about them? You don't think anyone cares about you?

All of the above to some degree, but I suppose it's just the specific people I'm hanging around at the time really (last year of our equivalent of high school)... I just can't get around the fact that you are judged by how good your social skills are, but then again it's not the same way the few times I hang around those who don't know who I am already... I could drone on about all the reasons my life is not working out atm but I'll spare you the details, being well-known in a small town = everyone judges you = shitty life pretty much
