Why should i pay 10 bucks for this test is it better than free big 5 tests

I could have given you your approximate stats right off the bat, some of them

You should just have used irl and INTPf crowd wisdom and asked everyone to give you a percentage of these traits then take the average from all the answers.

How long is the test?

Has he released anything on its construction? I remember watching a video about some of his stuff and it sounded interesting. I'm not sure how much his work stands out from non-celebrity scientists (as in I genuinely have no idea), but he's really good at making it accessible.

$10 probably isn't too much to pay if it gives you results you can trust and closure.

I'd say the biggest pro to taking the test is that it actually compares you to a sample of 10,000 people. So the percentages that it gives you is based on a percentage of how you compare to other people as opposed to just some made up arbitrary number as a percentage.

You do realize that Jordan Peterson has done several full lectures on the validity of psychological testing methods from a statistical POV on a University level right?

I take this as you not liking me, not that you actually believe that there are "better" free Big 5 tests. I say this because ever since you became a mod you've abused your power and felt that you can criticize me without reprove. That's my takeaway at least.

I’m tempted to take it, but I’m also a cheap bastard, so nah.

Yeah that should be a bare minimum tbh. Raw scores are completely meaningless. For stuff like personality variables, it's almost always going to be in respect to the general population, so if a test doesn't give you these numbers it's probably borked.

With MBTI, it's a little different because it's a typology and not about personality dimensions. I think that's too simple but it does circumvent the need for comparison somewhat.

If a dimensional test doesn't give you a percentile, it's likely a sham.

You run into the same problem with MBTI imo. I think because MBTI separates people into more or less likely to be a certain type is an inherent flaw in the methodology. But I suppose that is just my opinion.

It's my opinion too, but I didn't want what I was saying to be dismissed by people that think MBTI works, since it doesn't concern my point on personality dimensions.
