I somehow associated you with cryptonite before, so this is great. Are you at all concerned some people may call you 'Bucky', though? Or 'Ballsy'.......sorry........:slashnew:

lol! haha actually I've been cryptonia for so long (pushing 2 1/2 years, I think) that I was mostly expecting people would still keep calling me that or crypt out of habit. I'd be ok with bucky or ballsy, though... *shrugs*.

(this is going to take some mental readjustment)

*goes into CNS (Central Nervous System) - opens up the Drive*

*Finds the "Memory" folder and opens it up.*

*Finds the "intpforum.com" folder and opens it up.*

*Finds the "Fernando_the_Weasel" folder and right clicks. "Rename" *

*types in Ermine*

All done!:D

hehe... even though this was posted ages ago, I accidentally didn't click "last page" when looking at this thread, and stumbled upon this post.

I was a little ashamed to find my brain's first inclination be to say: "I think you want to type "sudo mv ~/CNS/Memory/intpforum.com/Fernando_the_Weasel ~/CNS/Memory/intpforum.com/Ermine"

just enter your brain's password and you're good to go :D

I reached for the keyboard, but the dog bit me.

Well, usually we let people wait a couple weeks. Until then maybe the name wish changes again.

(Also, "The concept is inherently vague" is kinda long for a screenname..) :eek:;)

A quick search brought up some pretty cool ones.
You should use this one:

yeah... thanks echo, but I think those are too big. I didn't want to mess around with shrinking (/possibly compressing) them... and I'm not even 100% sure I could do it if I wanted, since I've never done it before. That's why I ended up with a sort of boring one. With google, it's either "icon size" or "anything bigger than X", so I just ended up searching things that were exactly 200x200 (anything more I think hangs over the edge of most peoples', and would extend the frame obnoxiously on every thread where I post)... and I'm sure there are better ones out there.

I was getting sick of being confused as to who everyone was/is now, so...
Fernando_the_Weasel -> Ermine
"Robi with some digits in it" -> Da Blob
Fasaba -> World
bborps -> Sleep

Civilian Jones -> Reverse Transcriptase
Kaedri -> Adaire
Mac OS X Ocelot -> Red Mage
Ulysses64 -> Ulysses

Chris -> Cryss Winters
Zero:The Fool -> Zero
Glovehead -> Preilemus
Queen of Spades -> Minuend

INIFENISENESTJNJFPFJTPFJ -> INTPINFP
Veridian -> Ombat
Tekton -> Kuu
Cognisant -> Artifice Orisit

Fast Fashion -> FF
Melody -> Starfruit M.E.
Cryptonia -> Fullerene
AllKnowingCow -> Cegorach
Multiple Changers...
Venngennce -> Nobody - > Fedayeen
Slyguy ->Red Toad -> King of Crabs -> Toad
Melkor -> Morgoth -> Melkor -> Kowaii -> Melkor . . . something like that.

Pshaw... I just read through the thread making notes. Granted, I had to do some checking... Lots of references to who someone became. Not a lot concerning who they once were.

By the by, if any of your names are misspelled... :p

P.S. You're welcome. :)

Yeah, I'm right there with you. I change my name all the time while playing video games, but not here because I actually feel like I'm able to well represent myself. Now I'm starting to realize the frustration others must feel when I change my name. Do the admins keep track of who used to be who?

FYI... Nobody wasn't his first name either. I don't know if there was a specific reason for changing, so I won't reveal that myself.

Yes, nobody gave way to Fedayeen.

Nyx (nix is german for nothing and Nyx is German for merman...) is our Lady Transhumanism...

Nope, Sapphire Harp's excellent summary is the nearest we have. Each person's profile shows --- to mods, perhaps all --- a list of former names, but one would not be sane to visit 2000+ profiles to obtain trivia.

Personally, I regard name changes as a dissolving of personality, relinquishing all past possessions; and so decide any new name is merely a rookie member.

Ideally it would wipe out post count, but as yet no hack has been found to implement this. Although we can manually diminish the post count in the future by a random amount...

Naturally though, name changes do not affect pages held by search engine caches, and even on sites the original name remains where they were quoted by another poster.

This is my main way of keeping up.

Identity crisis. Indeed.

Well that's not why I chose it, though I find the 'merman' aspect of it amusing. Perhaps I should have gone with 'Lady Transhumanism,' an awesome if egotistical name. :p

Well I like to think that if a rookie comes here with anything valuable to say he'll be heard. So I find I don't mind too much to be viewed as such.

If it is still not clear who I am; I was once Adaire, Adair and Kaedri.

Aww cripes! I've been wondering who this crazy fullerene is who seems to know me! Good grief, there's a reason there was a "less observant than Leif" award in high school... ugh. Besides, you are L in my brain now.... oi
