So, how many of you are members on Personality Cafe?

What an absolute over-moderated load of crap. If you're a genuine INTP, you won't last on there. I'm banned.... and looking through the 'bans and infractions' section I see quite a few INTP's on there!

I was warned for "Trolling" a few days ago
Then yesterday I was warned again for "Typism".
And finally I was banned for telling the admin that she is a cunt.

I can't quite put my finger on what it is that I feel about this, but there's a huge part of me that just wants to destroy her life. I can't be doing with people (male or female) who sit on their electronic pedestals and think that they are over you. They need to get outside a little!

Thinking back, I can also remember several other websites that I've been banned from, for similar things. I seem to hold a vendetta against them for a LONG time afterwards, going out of my way to inconvenience them were possible. Is this just me?

It's like a button.... as soon as a stupid person presses it I just lose all interest in the forum. There is ALOT of stupid people on PerC.

There's actually a decent core of INTPs there, but they're the ones who have learned how to play in mixed groups rather than just running full-tilt into the walls.

The site is definitely one of the more heavily moderated type sites out there. They are very very tight on enforcing rules against all types of -ism's, so you can't freewheel it like you might here or on INTPc or even TypC, you will get nailed quickly and have the lines drawn for you. Some people hate this, some people like it.

Reading your PM earlier, I see you told her she was fat? You can do better than that, from an intellectual standpoint. What kind of response would you expect when someone's drawing forum boundaries for you and you resort to cheap insults having nothing to do with the issue? If you do in PM with a mod, they're going to think you'll do it on the forum too, so of course they're going to can you.

This isn't really an issue with Promethea, though. The entire mod staff would nail you for these things. They run a really tight ship there.

It sounds like that forum is just not a place where you would feel content, it sounds like you need less restrictions on your speech in order to feel like you are contributing. So hey, it's a positive thing in that sense.

That's probably something you should examine more, to see what kind of patterns you practice that don't seem to go over well in a variety of settings.

Sounds like you don't like not being in control or that these social groups have rules that you don't like having to follow, so you're retaliating. Maybe you need to sit back and examine why it bugs you so much or whether there's something that you could do that would help you integrate better.

I don't really see it as stupid to make sure that people of all different types are able to share a space together (which might mean more groundrules to follow); it's different when the group is homogenous (like INTPs, for example) because then the natural rules people follow individual are similar to start with and everyone gets each other, but in a group with a large mix of people, you need more groundrules to keep things from falling apart. That site is pretty F intensive too.

Calling a mod "fat" when there's a dispute over the rules and/or a "cunt" (did I miss that one, I can't see the screen capture right this sec due to work filters, or were you just generalizing?) and whatever else probably isn't a smart way to resolve the conflict either. Would you have used the same insult (of "fat") on a guy? Or a different insult? It just comes off as tacky.

Not really, I just don't like people who sit upon their e-high horse and try to flex their e-muscles. It gets under my skin. Who are they to decide what you can or can't say on the internet? We are all entitled to our opinion and free to share them.

If I was to say.... "All XXXX are stupid" based on no evidence then yes, that would be 'typist' as the call it. But, if I was to claim that type XXXX made me cringe and then linked to several threads explaining why, isn't that an informed opinion? It's like pointing out that an African American person has black skin, is that racist, or fact?

What about if I said that I really really like ESFJ's.... isn't that being 'Typist'? I have skimmed through the rules, very vague. Then, for somebody to preach those rules, it just doesn't wash with me.

The forum is shit but I don't sympathize with you. You acted like some kind of immature rebel without a reason. Instead of rationally criticizing the rules that bothered you so much, you get butthurt and lash out with petty little insults. That would have you banned from anywhere.


And anyway, when you use a site, any site you're implicitly agreeing to their terms or service, maybe you should give them a skim so you avoid shit forums in the future.

You mean who are the forum owners to tell you how to behave on their site? That is the stupidest thing I've ever read on these forums. I think. If I'm wrong, it's very close to that.

I doubt that you've phrased your post nicely... And I've no doubt that you think you have. However, if that's the case, then the moderator took action according to what an average asshole would do in real life. But I doubt that that was the case judging from your delightful screenshot.

That's what the rules are for. They aren't there just to look at, they are there to be followed. The site isn't yours, you didn't create it. If you don't like the rules, get the fuck out of that site before accepting the rules.

Suppose you have a really nice Mustang that you've worked on for 5 years. A friend of yours would come with really muddy shoes, would you allow him to get in? Would you allow him to put his feet on your frontpanel? Would you allow him to jack off while you're driving? Would you allow him to fuck someone on the back seat? They're the mods who are implementing the vision of the site owner. Forums are not covered under First Amendment rights, the owner of the site determines what goes. But other posts here have explained that.
