Sorry.......
I think what I mean is that as generations of MBTI-ers come and go through the forums you will see all kinds of new theories being introduced and worked out, and over time, all that will be left will be complete and utter perversions of the truth; the working theories will evolve on their own, and nobody will have any sort of clear picture of the ways of the past.
Now, my argument isn't that this in itself is undesirable. So, clear on that.
However, what will develop as a result of the perverted theories are
false stereotypes. Typology won't exist in its original (or its current) form (which is already perverted), and I think there will be a trend towards more stereo-"typing" on the whole, because false information is all that will exist.
Typology communities will be based on type idols, people with the highest level of typology skill, who type you based on (their opinions of) the similarity you exhibit when compared to them. The
concepts of reliability and validity will too be perverted, being derived and delivered directly from the minds of the type idols who lead the cult.
Anyways, I feel this is relevant to
Why stop there? Pretty much on every type site, you can wonder how accurately any type on that forum has typed themselves. Some people seem to fit the typical description of their type; others cause an automatic double-take.
Typing isn't as easy as it looks, and people are coming into it with varying degrees of knowledge, and we're also only seeing how someone interacts in a very specific medium -- one slice of their personality.
