For those INTPs who are or have been employed, how do you view your job? I'm currently at a place where I view a job as an intensely stressful affair that people only endure out of necessity, which, as might be expected, greatly hinders my motivation to look for one. Any honest feedback on your experiences with employment would be greatly appreciated.

I work in childcare and I see it as an intensely stressful affair that I only endure out of necessity.

I also look at it as...
- an opportunity to round my Fe
- an opportunity to learn how to parent without jumping in the deep end first
- a popularity contest in who can accumulate the most kid fans (I'm winning)
- a way to not feel like a useless drain on society

I think what you feel is normal, as I feel the same. I feel that it's a great injustice that I must earn an existence, but also recognise what I perceive as a gross sense of entitlement in myself.

I kind of doubt an INTP would ultimately like any job. We want careers, or vocations, but jobs impose too much Te opposing personality rules and regulations to live by.

I love my field and hate my job, but intellectually realize it's the best job I can have, which is one reasons I've stayed there for so long. They recognize my need for low control so I'm giving a long leash, but it's still a leash.

But my job isn't stressful at all, actually I could use a little stress to push me over a hump at the moment. I've been in stressful situations too. You didn't tell us the circumstances but I'd recommend looking for another job (I'm guessing this isn't a White Collar professional job?) and/or a career. Generally the more money you make the less stressful your job is (not always true).

My job awakens the Se.

No more blank gazes into space, while stroking the beard.

Now eyes are wide and looking, and the whole body is moving.

Even though I feel a little bit vulnerable being in Se mode, the blood gets circulating and I find it does a lot of good for my body and mind.

The worst parts of any jobs I've had are when coworker and bosses are constantly trying to interact with me. I.e. constant questions and requests, the phone ringing off the hook. The best parts of jobs I've had are when I've had minimal supervision and input and given the time for whatever problem I'm working on.

Precisely.

I had a job where I was supposed to work all positions of the store, but the put me on the hacking register all day every day, and I quit after 3 weeks. It was torture, and by the end I was contemplating running in front of a car and getting hit so I had a reason to not go to work... call me over dramatic, but I also struggle with derp-pression and a few other mental things so I went from fine to ready to possibly die really quickly ha ha. I think the worst things about most jobs is the repetition. I constantly have to quit and find another job because I can' t do the same thing over and over it will actually bore me to insanity and make me feel like time is moving so slowly that there is no point in doing something so mundane until I die, might as well just die.

I hope this doesn't trigger anyone, just kind of where work makes my mind go. I need mind work, not repetitive work.

Bingo.
Tell me what result you want and go away. Don't tell me how to get it.
