Simple enough, right? After 55 years on earth it still feels like I'd have better chance of finding Unobtanium than to find those folks who I catch a clue with....

Hey, mere youngsters!!

Funny, I don't think of age as much of anything but a guidepost. Eventually they'll run out....What I am mainly hoping for is to truly find connection before they run out.......

One thing I want to add.....When I was young, a half century ago, there was a version of Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer narrated by Burl Ives. What always used to get me was when watching the part about the Land of Broken Toys. For some reason, I could relate to them......That sound really wacked out?

Yes, age is little more than just a suggestion of what types of experiences you might have had so far... but even then it might not be accurate.

Broken Toys, or misfit toys?

I love the Rankin/Bass stop-motion animations, and Burl Ives did the narration / singing for "Rudolph..." They had the Island of Misfit Toys -- the train with square wheels, etc. Not only have I always been a misfit toy, I would have been happy living there. There's such diversity and the thwarting of expectation. The little bully reindeer with their ugly black noses is a hellish world to live in.

Although I do know the thing I heard about aches and pains is proving more valid these days.....

Frankly, I'll be thrilled with something comprehensible. Occasionally....

Chances are I will look and say little for now. It is important to find resonance. In the general world, that isn't happening.

My big question is where can I be who I am? I'm hoping it isn't "Willoughby" as in The Twilight Zone....

I live in a family of four humans (two dogs, three cats...)

Me: INTP (though with over-developed-by-life's-circumstances E, S, F and J)
My Wife: INFP
Older Son (25): INFJ
Younger Son (20): INTP

When my older son is home, the four of us can sit in the same room and ignore one another, quite peacefully, for hours on end...

We're all very familiar with the misfit toys theme, and, while the world certainly sometimes seems forbidding, our house is quite comforting like that Island of Misfit Toys probably was to those misfit toys...
