I NEVER been abused, I NEVER been suicidal, I HAVE been bullied, picked on laughed at(which is actually my greatest fear). But none of that really have nothing to do with this. For a while now I wanted to be able to switch off my emotions or suppress or at least dull them down, even though I know its a bad idea probably really bad, but it one of those things I want to learn. Especially since recent situations it's very highly likely I'm gonna lose my job, my first job to be specific and I known its the darkest before the dawn. But it might help in future pain and loss.

Thinking before acting upon your emotion helps to dull them, which then allows you to control these emotions.

I'm not sure what you're looking for in this thread though other than advice.

One would actually need a switch wedged into the general brain area to do that....our brains are geared towards being filled with emotions, it aids the overall evolutionary imperative.

If you want to dull your emotions and the effects of the world upon you, substance use/abuse is an option.

Otherwise, wait for someone with better advice than me or go see a shrink.

Bad idea IMO. We're already a bottled-up bunch as is, adding another wave of suppression will probably mess us up even worse.

What you need to do is to focus on planning and executing the means to get out of the rut that you're in whether it be decreasing the chances of losing said job OR getting another better job. This will somewhat dull the pain of loss since your brain will dedicate more of its resources to doing your plans.

Meditate to take inventory of your surroundings. Go to a familiar place and close your eyes, try to imagine the room you are in with all its objects and details. Now imagine their history, changes over time, reactions, whatever. Go outside this place within your mind to every connected area letting your senses explore and investigate.

When you are done open your eyes and pick up any object around you to appraise then close your eyes and remember what you saw then open and look at it again, flex and test your imagination until you are confident in its capabilities.

In daily life when you feel your body language is being done as a reflex or there are emotions unaccounted for just continue preceeding techniques to create a dialogue with your subconscious.

If you turned them off you would be 100% rational, probably never turn them back on...

I don't think you would live very long. You'd probably stop moving and never do anything ever again.

But I second the recommendation to try meditation, if you haven't. It's the best way I know of to learn how to manage emotions.
