Intelligence is variable. It works differently in different people and their talents are evident in certain and specific categories. So no. You don't have to be good at strategy. I'd call a person, who is good at strategy, clever. I'd call a person who is good at the strategy of life, wise. I would call a person who has good memory and sufficient knoweledge, intelligent. Most IQ tests only test certain skills. So you if you do well on them that means you are good at 'those skills' it is really meaningless otherwise..

As far as IQ goes, it is better for determining a baseline but it cannot define a genius. I often wondered if Einstein would even do well on today's IQ tests and on what areas he would excel in. I suspect he would do well in some areas and do poorly in others.
Better examples might be Mozart, Beethoven, Shakespeare, etc..
IMO...There is no better and more accurate IQ test than Life.
